Melpool CA+ Calciumchloride 1000g

Melpool CA+, with ingredient calcium chloride, is used to increase the calcium hardness of the pool water. The ideal calcium concentration in pool water is between 80 - 400 ppm, with vinyl pools between 150-250 ppm. Soft water or low calcium concentrations make the water more aggressive, causing leaching of the plasticizer and other elements out of liners and fibres, thereby shortening its life. Hard water or water with calcium hardness over 400 ppm, would lead to scale depositing on the pool liner, inside of the pipes, fittings and heat-pump. Biocidal products such as calcium hypochlorite increase the calcium hardness as well. Calcium chloride is not readily soluble in water and hence it is advised to dissolve the chemical in a plastic bucket containing pool water and slowly poured into the pool. Do not put CA+ in the skimmer as dissolution of calcium chloride will occur.
