What is the difference between PE=PE40 and HDPE=PE100?
- PE40 or LDPE – Low Density PE
- PE80 or MDPE – Medium Density PE
- PE100 or HDPE – High Density PE
PE100 has a higher density than PE40. That makes a higher compression strength possible in a thinner side. However, the higher density means that a PE100 pipe will be more rigid, which means that this pipe is more difficult to work with, especially at lower temperatures. PE100 is the only PE pipe that should be used for electrofusion. All of our electrofusion have EU pins so adaptors electrofusion kits would be necessary.
